EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MICROBLADING YOUR EYEBROWS

It doesn't matter if you like them arched and feathered or straight and bold, eyebrows are arguably the most important facial feature. If you're not satisfied with the ones you have, there aren't many ways to update them (brow gels and pencils can only get you so far) . But now there's a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results. Ladies and gents, I'd like to introduce you to microblading. Unlike the sometimes Sharpie-esque effects of permanent makeup and drawing your brows in, microblading is more of an embroidery of natural looking strokes that look just like real hair. It is a perfect solution for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill-in over plucked brows.

During the treatment, a special microblading pen is used to draw on individual strokes one by one. It's an extremely meticulous process that takes around 1.5-2 hours to complete. Depending on your  skin and lifestyle, results will last for up to three years before beginning to fade. At first, we will draw in the shape with a removable pencil. That’s the longest part and the most important step. During this time, the best customized shape for every client is calculated based on your bone structure and preference.  I will then use a custom mix of high-quality pigment to match your skin and hair.

Before the microblading begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. If you're worried that the process is painful, some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it's relatively painless. Overall it feels like little scratches. You feel it, but it's not unbearable.

The best part about the technique is that there is no down time. Your new set of brows will be ready for a selfie immediately after the process. Since microblading is a 2 step process, it's necessary to have a follow-up appointment (perfecting session) 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. The healing process is different for everyone and it takes between 25 and 30 days. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled.  Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color for as long as possible.

Microblading is extremely low maintenance. No special care is required after the initial healing process. After that, you can resume your normal lifestyle. All that's needed to keep your brows looking fresh is a brief touch-up once a year.

Aftercare is essential, especially the first 10-14 days after your appointment. You will need to protect freshly bladed brows from all moisture–no sweaty workouts and use extreme caution when showering and washing your face for a couple weeks. Some patients experience itching and redness during the first week, which Vaseline can alleviate. Brows will look slightly darker first, then the color will fade 30 to 40 percent (that's why the perfecting session is essential). Aftercare ointments are provided during your first appointment. Overall they will look great right away and you don't have to hide. Slight redness and mild swelling is normal.
